Hello Lugers and Downhill Karters!

We are excited to announce that we are now open for the 2021 season!

Following direction from the Government and Ministry of Health, we ask all guests to book online prior to arriving on-site to maintain a contactless experience.

Please check our Frequently Asked Questions below for more information on how we will be operating safely on-site in a Covid-19 environment.

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens if I pre booked an open dated ticket?

    For everyone's safety, we need to limit the number of people on-site at any one time. Please book a time slot here. It's just like our online cart except you don't have to pay anything at the end. Please bring your original ticket and your new one when you visit.
  • What will the experience be like at Downhill Karting this summer?

    We'll just be taking extra precautions to keep you and our staff safe whilst on site. We have been able to draw on information and experience from our other sites in New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea to develop our Health and Safety Strategy.

  • How can I purchase tickets for Downhill Karting in this COVID-19 environment?

    You must buy tickets online before arrival, for a contactless and straight-to-gate experience. Click here for information on our open hours & session times.

    Guests are asked to arrive within the first 30 minutes of their selected session* to start their rides.

    Guests without a pre-purchased ticket will not be able to ride.

    *IMPORTANT: due to COVID-19 Restrictions, all customers must arrive at their selected session time.

  • What additional safety measures are you taking to encourage good hygiene amongst guests and staff?

    • We will be managing the flow and the number of people on-site at any one time.
    • We will have 2-meter markers on the ground around our site to promote social distancing.
    • Guests will only be able to ride together on the chairlift with people within their own bubble. i.e. same household or cohort. 
    • Our staff are also assigned ‘a bubble’ and will be operating strictly within their respective bubbles.
    • We have increased the frequency and extent of our cleaning schedules.
    • We will clean every chair carrier at the start and middle of each day.
    • We will be washing and disinfecting Karts between every ride. 
    • All helmets are disinfected after use, but we recommend bringing your own.
    • We will have complimentary hand sanitizer for guests and staff at key locations around the complex.
    • Visual reminders on the importance of practising good hygiene will be displayed in key areas. These include social distancing, hand sanitizing and wearing masks.

  • What are your open hours?

    Open hours will be available here, and on our Instagram & Facebook pages. Hours are subject to change at any time so please keep an eye on our website.

  • Can Children ride the Downhill Karts unsupervised?

    110cm is the minimum height restriction for anyone riding the Luge alone. Children under 110cm can ride the Luge in tandem with a paying Adult (from the same bubble/cohort).

    Any child who may require assistance riding a kart down the track must ride in tandem with an adult (over 20 years of age) from within their own bubble (or cohort). Staff are not permitted to ride with children down the track.

  • Do I have to wear a mask onsite?

    Face coverings are mandatory in all indoor areas and in all outdoor common areas. This includes the Winsport day lodge, chairlift/ queue lines, while boarding/unloading the chairlift and in the instruction area.
